We've designed this steel winch to be able to handle some of the tougher tie down jobs with accurate tensioning. Low profile winches, such as Kinedyne's strong and durable heat-treated carbon steel Low-Profile Undermount Weld-On Winch, are designed for tie down jobs where space and height are critical for the job. Do not install this low-profile winch in bottom mount orientation in order to ensure proper operation of locking pawl by gravity. This winch features an easier to access "Thumb Saver" thumb pawl that lets you easily lock or unlock the sprocket to operate the winch. Cold outside? Don't worry, you don't have to take off your gloves in order to work this thumb pawl.
Kinedyne winches comply with DOT regulations, CHP, Canadian 905, North American Cargo Securement, and WSTDA standards. The working load limit, country of origin, and manufactured date are stamped on the frame in accordance to North American Regulations. These winches are engineered for cargo securement; they are not to be used as a pulling or lifting device.
