ONE
The History of Kinedyne
1968
Kinedyne was founded in 1968 in a small building in central New Jersey with the intent to sell cargo securement products used by the transportation industry.
1973
Our presence in the United States increased over time and a warehouse was opened in Georgia in 1973 to support growth in the southeast region.
1986
We broke ground in 1986 on a new 16,000 square foot facility in Prattville, Alabama to expand our capacity to manufacture high quality synthetic web material for use in Kinedyne straps.
1987
The first Kinedyne facility in the western United States was opened in 1987 in California, and later relocated to Nevada, to provide better service to our West Coast customers.
1989
Kinedyne completed a major acquisition in 1989 when we purchased the Cargo Control division of Aeroquip Corporation of Lawrence, Kansas. This gave us access to the Aeroquip line of cargo securement products and their manufacturing technology.
1990
Twelve months later, we broke ground on a new 47,000 square-foot facility in Lawrence to serve as Kinedyne’s main operational facility. This led to a consolidation of all manufacturing and warehousing operations in the area into a single location.
2000
We continued our tradition of pursuing cutting edge of technology when a state-of-the-art roll forming and powder-coating facility was opened in 2000 in Painesville, Ohio. The plant would later be relocated to the Prattville facility to take advantage of operational efficiencies.
2006
The first Kinedyne manufacturing facility outside of North America was opened when Kinedyne Limited started operations in Kunshan, China with the intent to implement our strict quality control standards for all of the company’s manufacturing operations in the region.
2008
Kinedyne achieved a major milestone in 2008 when we celebrated 40 years in business. At the same time, we once again took steps to invest in our future when we broke ground on a new 200,000 square foot state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Nantong, China.
2009
The new facility opened in 2009 and would serve as the base of operations for more than 300 employees in the region. Our professional and highly qualified staff in Nantong would support all of Kinedyne’s manufacturing, quality control, engineering and supply chain management activities in the region.
2017
In 2017, Kinedyne completed a major relocation and expansion by consolidating its engineering, manufacturing, quality control, supply chain, customer service, and government contract operations into a 200,000-square-foot facility in Prattville, Alabama. This strategic move streamlined operations, boosted efficiency, and reinforced Kinedyne’s commitment to delivering industry-leading cargo control solutions.
2018
Kinedyne proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018—a major milestone marking five decades of innovation, growth, and leadership in cargo control. Since 1968, Kinedyne has remained committed to delivering high-quality products and solutions, powered by hardworking employees and a legacy of customer-focused service.
2022
To better serve its global military and government customers, in 2022, Kinedyne introduced Kinedyne Defend, a new brand for the National Stock Number (NSN), National Aerospace Standards (NAS) and Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC) products within its Military, Government and Specialty Solutions division.
2024
Kinedyne relocated its West Coast distribution center from Azusa, California to a larger, more advanced facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This move in 2024 was part of a continued effort to streamline logistics, enhance operational efficiency, and better serve customers throughout the region with improved infrastructure and accessibility.
